Crash Bar Engine Guard Highway Freeway Bar for Yamaha V-Star Vstar XVS 950 XVS950 Tourer 2009-2017 (Black-Ordinary Style)

I really like the looks and quality of the metal crash bar. The instructions were great, especially after not noticing the part about using the longer bolts on the left side. As others have said it did need some tweaking to install it and I do not like the hooks. I will fabricate something more solid. The other problem I had was the 2 small screws that bolt the 2 halves together. On 1 of the bolts the threads stripped out completely, not too much of an issue after digging through the bolts I found one to replace it. On the other small bolt the Allen head stripped out and I couldn’t tighten it or loosen it. I had to use vise grips to get it out. I tried to use another of the same bolts that I used to replace the other side and it snapped off in the bar. I had to drill it out and I tapped a new much bigger thread to use a bigger bolt that won’t snap. I don’t really think that is the fault of the product so still giving it 4 stars.
